A young orphan, Aïcha, is at the mercy of a pair of criminals who intend to sell her in France. Along the way, the strange threesome crosses paths with Zacaria, a Moroccan-Iraqi writer who has abandoned everything to search for his missing brother since joining a revolutionary group. Taking advantage of a moment of distraction by her kidnappers, Aïcha escapes and is taken in by Judith, a French woman who lives isolated from the world in a very large house. From Morocco to Istanbul, to the plains of Kurdistan and beyond, a journey in search of another chance in life. All struggle to find their place in the world, in search of the living and of the dead, of others and of themselves. Their paths intersect at different points and their destinies eventually diverge…
