SYNOPSIS

Early 1900s. Jean and Gabrielle Hervey are a successful couple admired and envied by everyone. They entertain high society regularly in their luxurious home. But a letter and a moment of passion is all it takes to send everything crashing down. Now facing one another alone, they will see each other as they really are. It’s hard living in the same house when you don’t want the same things ... A mesmerizing exploration of the intimacy of a couple, personal desire and social convention ... From the director of INTIMACY, HIS BROTHER (SON FRERE) and LA REINE MARGOT. Cinematography by Eric Gautier (The Motorcycle Diaries). Based on Joseph Conrad's "The Return."
