SYNOPSIS

'The Big One' is the most successful burger from fast food chain Mickey's. Marketing exec Don Anderson is sent to investigate the meat packing plant in Cody, Colorado, where his company's patties are processed… In their search for the American dream, illegal Mexican immigrants Sylvia, her boyfriend Raul and sister Coco wind up as workers at the suspicious meat packing plant. The clean and efficient plant that Don is shown bears little relation to what goes on behind the scenes… Teenager Amber works in the local outlet of Mickey's to help her single mother pay the bills and hopefully save enough to go to college. Encouraged by her Uncle Pete, Amber and her friends plan to take action to stop America turning into a fast food nation... Based on Eric Schlosser's non-fiction bestseller. From the director of A SCANNER DARKLY, BEFORE SUNSET, BEFORE SUNRISE, THE SCHOOL OF ROCK, DAZED AND CONFUSED and SLACKER.
