SYNOPSIS

Thirty-something flight attendant Ellen is completely thrown off track when her longtime boyfriend unexpectedly breaks up with her. Adding to Ellen's troubles are an upsetting doctor's appointment and a dramatic panic attack on duty. Rejected and jobless, Ellen is without the little sense of security she once had. Lost and wandering, Ellen ends up with Karl and his fellow university-aged animal rights activist friends. Before long, Ellen is planning demonstrations and plotting to free potential four-legged victims. Ellen is sincerely fascinated by the passionate group, but they also offer her accomodation, even if it is communal living with stray cats and dogs. Ellen and much younger Karl soon strike a comforting bond which both find difficult to remain platonic. Despite the drastic turns in her lifestyle, Ellen feels aroused by a sense of purpose. She is strangely happy and ready to venture a new beginning. Ellen is determined to find someplace in the world where she is truly needed, even at her age... Starring Jeanne Balibar (SAGAN, VA SAVOIR, CODE 46, THE DUCHESS OF LANGEAIS). From the director of THE UNPOLISHED (2007 Rotterdam Best Film, 2008 German Critics Best Feature Debut)
